The Texas Rangers moved into sole possession of first place in the American League West with a win Saturday. The nightmarish Houston Astros try to fight back Sunday preventing Texas from taking a road series.

Houston blew three leads in defeat. The Astros can credit two errors to why the Rangers were victorious instead of them. Jose Altuve's double and Chris Carter's home run got Houston in front 2-0. A.J. Pierzynski however got Texas on the scoreboard during the top of the sixth. Matt Dominguez's sacrifice fly moments later regained a two-run cushion for the Astros.

Elvis Andrus though homered to square everything at three an inning later. Jason Frazor's (3-2, 2.97 ERA) wild pitch put Houston back on top. Alex Rios' RBI-triple and Mitch Moreland's fielder's choice however saved face for the Rangers during the eighth.

Dallas Keuchel (5-6, 4.64 ERA) will go next for the Astros. Keuchel hasn't fallen at Minute Maid Park since July 1 allowing five runs during 4.2 frames. The again Keuchel hasn't won in Houston since June 16 yielding two runs during 6.1 innings to the Chicago White Sox.

The Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics also gave Keuchel home defeats sending in 10 runs during 10.1 frames. Keuchel however did beat the Baltimore Orioles and Kansas City Royals at Minute Maid Park in mid-May and early June conceding five runs during 12.2 innings. Texas talllied two runs each during five and six frames versus Keuchel in a Houston road victory and Astros home loss. The Rangers are 15-of-58 with an Andrus and Nelson Cruz RBI against Keuchel.

Texas goes back to Martin Perez (4-3, 3.81 ERA) for just the 11th time this year. Perez however has already beed a part of seven road exchanges going 3-2. The Arizona Diamondbacks and Detroit Tigers beat Perez 5-3 and 5-0 by driving in nine runs, eight earned, during 11 innings.

In Perez away victories he conceded eight runs, six earned, during 19.1 frames. Houston's Chris Carter is the only Astro to have faced Perez previously going 3-of-4 with two RBIs. The Rangers could face more trouble if Keuchel is able to repeat his two-run trend versus Texas.
