The Tampa Bay Rays look to leave the the Los Angeles Dodgers with a loss on Sunday.
Tampa Bay was the hottest team in the American League East and their reward was the top spot. However, the Rays have slowed a bit and that has dropped them to second which is the price to be paid for living in baseball's toughest division. Following a 5-0 loss to the Dodgers, the Rays have fallen in four straight with the pitching struggling in each. That trend continued Saturday and the bats joined in the struggles as well. Roberto Hernandez allowed all five runs on eight hits and a walk in four frames which was a death blow for an offense that managed just six hits and a single walk. Jeremy Hellickson draws Sunday's assignment on the mound versus the red hot Dodgers. Hellickson has struggled the last two times out with consecutive defeats in which he gave up nine runs in nine innings.

The Dodgers continued their hot streak on Saturday and when they look ripe for the pickings, they simply haven't been. Consistency and winning has been the face of this team for weeks and the bad news for the rest of the National League West is the Dodgers are showing no signs of letting up. Los Angeles has been hitting and scoring as needed and received plenty of both Saturday with Zack Greinke tossing a six hit shut out over 6.1 innings , while striking out seven. The offense did the rest on 12 hits and four bases on balls, that saw Adrian Gonzalez smack a two run bomb in the first, while Nick Punto connected on a two run single in the third to make it a 4-0 lead. Left hander Clayton Kershaw takes the bump versus Tampa Bay hoping for win number eleven on the season. Kershaw has logged quality starts in nine of of his last ten outings in which he has gone 5-3 with two no decisions.
It's tough to go against Kershaw but he doesn't always get a ton of support which means one mistake could spell defeat. The Rays are dangerous so I'd be careful about being over confident...
