The horrible Miami Marlins try to bounce back from a 6-2 loss at the Kansas City Royals with a better game out of the offense.
On Tuesday Miami was outhit 12-9 and couldn't turn two KC errors into runs. One of the Royals' mistakes got Greg Dobbs to third base after he doubled in Logan Morrison during the top of the sixth. Had Dobbs scored the Marlins would have jumped ahead 3-2. Morrison began the threat by doubling Giancarlo Stanton.

Kansas City conversely left five fewer runners on base. Justin Maxwell's triple, Chris Getz's single, Alcides Escobar's triple, Jarrod Dyson's single, David Lough's single and Billy Butler's home run drove in six runs for the Royals, five runs coming off Tom Koehler (3-8, 4.62 ERA).
Jose Fernandez (8-5, 2.58 ERA) throws next for Miami. Considering Fernandez is pitching for the Marlins it's amazing he doesn't have a losing record. Fernandez has won six of his last eight decisions by allowing 17 runs, 16 earned, during 80.1 innings since June 1.
Fernandez's first five decisions came on the road, two wins and three losses, yielding 19 runs, 16 earned, during 25.1 frames. Overall in away appearances Fernandez is 3-5. KC's Pedro Ciriaco is 0-of-3 with a strikeout versus Fernandez.
The Royals return to the rubber with Bruce Chen (5-0, 1.79 ERA). At Kauffman Stadium alone Chen is 3-0 downing the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays giving up a run during 15.2 innings.
In other trips to Kauffman Chen has conceded six runs during 23.1 frames. Kansas City is 5-8 at home when Chen hurls. Miami is 17-of-56 with nine RBIs, a handful of them Placido Polanco's, against Chen as well. Despite all of that I like the Royals to notch another victory.
