The Los Angeles Angels season is an outright disaster and on Wednesday they had the look of a team who has given up. Grant Green had three hits and J.B. Shuck, Mike Trout, and Josh Hamilton each had two hits as the Angeles managed three runs on 12 hits. Starting pitcher Jered Weaver had a rough night allowing nine hits and nine runs while striking out four over 5.0 innings to get the win and go to 7-6 on the season. For Thursday’s game the Angels start C.J. WIlson who has been one of the brighter spots on the Angels this year. For the season Wilson has allowed 147 hits and 59 earned runs while striking out 143 over 152.1 innings for a 12-6 record and a 3.49 ERA.
New York is 5-1 in their last six games, 7-2 in their last nine games as a home favorite, and 4-11 in Hughes’ last 15 starts. Los Angeles is 2-8 in their last 10 games, 2-10 in their last 12 road games, and 8-3 in Wilson’s last 11 starts. Los Angeles is 7-20 in their last 27 games in New York.
With the total at nine and the way runs are hitting the scoreboard in this one my free play is on the over. My stronger play is on the winning side and I will post that pick in the Premium Area.
