The Toronto Blue Jays hope their series with the Boston Red Sox propels them to higher heights this weekend when the Jays battle the Tampa Bay Rays.
TB took the final two at home versus the Seattle Mariners, winning the finale 7-1 on Thursday. The Rays broke open a tight affair, with four runs during the bottom of the fifth.

Wil Myers was the main culprit Thursday night, driving in four runs, three of them off of two doubles. Tampa Bay also scored via Evan Longoria's home run and Yunel Escobar's RBI-single. The Rays were 4-of-10 with Runners In Scoring Position.
Toronto beat Boston 2-,1 despite trailing after six frames and being outhit 11-6. The Blue Jays tied the game on Brett Lawrie's single during the bottom of the seventh and then went ahead on Mark DeRosa's sacrifice fly.
R.A. Dickey (9-11, 4.46 ERA) has been racking up the decisions. Unfortunately for Toronto, the wins haven't been coming, with Dickey just owning nine and the Jays 11-13 when he heads to the hill. Dickey is 5-6 on the road, taking victories four of his last five starts, surrendering 14 runs, 11 earned, during 47.2 innings since June 5. One of those outings was brutal at the Chicago White Sox, conceding seven runs during five frames to fall 10-6.
After defeating the Kansas City Royals, Dickey was dumped at the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees before June. Dickey yielded 13 runs during 19 innings. TB beat Dickey 4-3 in Toronto July 21. The Rays also were stymied June 26 at Tampa Bay with Dickey throwing a complete game. The Rays beat the Blue Jays 5-4 at Tropicana Field May 9, despite Dickey giving up three runs, two earned, during six frames. TB is 24-of-154 with a dozen RBIs, four Longoria's, against Dickey.
The Rays return to the rubber with Roberto Hernandez (6-12, 4.95 ERA). In Tampa Bay this season, Hernandez is 5-4 winning his last two decisions at home by yielding five runs during 15 innings. Overall at Tropicana, the Rays are 7-5 when Hernandez hurls. Hernandez has given up 16 runs during 24.1 frames in Tropicana Field losses.
Toronto beat Hernandez 3-0 June 26, driving in three runs during eight innings. On May 7, though, Hernandez conceded a run during six frames to the Jays yet TB fell 6-4. Against Hernandez Toronto is 40-of-125 with 16 RBIs, a handful from Adam Lind. The Blue Jays get the better of Hernandez.
