The Houston Astros wish they played the Los Angeles Angels 162 games every year. Houston collected their 40th victory Friday night 8-2 in Anaheim. LA looks for payback on Saturday after being outhit 13-6.
The Angels had half as many errors, 1-2, but were 1-of-6 with Runners In Scoring Positions. The Astros actually left four more runners on base, 10-6, but were a little better with RISP going 4-of-15. Houston scored runs on Ryan Grossman's RBI-single, Jason Castro's walk and Chris Carter's sacrifice fly.

Los Angeles tallied their first run during the bottom of the fifth off of a Hank Conger groundout. Carter's RBI-single during the top of the seventh though regained the Astros their three-run lead. Grant Green's single moments later was the last time the Angels found the scoreboard. Carter and Matt Dominguez homered late to add salt to the wound for the home team.
Dallas Keuchel (5-7, 4.97 ERA) chucks next for Houston who has lost at least three times every month this season he's gone out to the bump. The good news for the Astros is they've already lot three times and Houston hasn't fallen four times in a month yet with Keuchel hurling. The bad news is the Astros are awful and have tumbled five of Keuchel's last six trips.
Keuchel and Houston however had more to smile about when facing LA more so than any other team in baseball. Keuchel won 6-3 at Angels Stadium May 31 with a seven-inning two-run gem. On May 7 the Astros edged Los Angeles 7-6. Keuchel gave up a run during 1.1 frames that day. The Angels are 8-of-30 with four RBIs versus Keuchel all-time.
LA retaliates with Garrett Richards (3-5, 4.04 ERA) who much like the Angels as a whole has been a disappointment in 2013. Los Angeles is 17-21 when Richards throws. At Angels Stadium Richards is 2-2 beating the Detroit Tigers and Toronto Blue Jays with seven superb innings yielding zero and two runs. In Anaheim defeats however Richards has given up a run each during a relief frame apiece to the Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners.
Houston fell 5-4 at LA April 13 the first time Richards saw the Astros conceding four runs during 6.1 innings. Richards won 6-5 in Houston four weeks later thanks to one blank frame pitched. The Astros also rocked in two runs, one earned, during 0.2 Richards innings June 2. Houston is 7-of-28 with four RBIs, a pair from Carter and Dominguez, against Richards.
