The Los Angeles Dodgers hope to continue their winning ways when they take the field against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Dodgers have been racking up the victories at a near record pace and added another to their total in a 4-0 win at Philadelphia. Los Angeles logged win number nine in a row and have been getting clutch hitting and pitching virtually every time they take the field. They got just enough hitting and a whole lot of pitching Friday with Zack Greinke allowing three hits and four walks over seven scoreless innings. The offense was quiet but did enough damage on seven hits and a walk with Hanley Ramirez going deep and driving in a pair of runs. Left hander Clayton Kershaw looks for win number 12 versus Philadelphia on Saturday. Kershaw has ten straight quality starts while going 6-3 in this stretch with a league low 1.88 ERA this season.

Friday turned out to be an emotional night when the Phillies fired manager Charlie Manuel and replaced him with Ryne Sandburg. Whether that had any effect on the team is a good question although I think the Dodgers performance effected them more. The offense simply didn't support a strong performance on the mound from Cliff Lee who gave up three runs on five hits and a base on balls through eight innings of work. The offense managed three hits and walked five times and left the bases loaded in the 8th for their lone serious threat before going quietly in the 9th. Kyle Kendrick takes the ball Saturday looking to slow the red hot Dodgers. Kendrick has struggled the past three times out with 14 runs given up on 25 hits and three BB through 12.1 frames.
With Kershaw dealing and Kendrick struggling, Los Angeles obviously has the advantage on the mound. Philadelphia is also having issues at the plate so I'll go with the hot team...
