The Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins take the field in game two of their series.
The way the Dodgers have been playing, consecutive defeats seem almost like a full blown slump. That's how hot this team has been and how they respond to a 6-2 defeat at Miami will be interesting to see. Los Angeles has been defying the odds the way they have been racking up the wins but their offense has finally struggled and their pitching couldn't save them. Starter Hyun-Jin Ryu tossed a winnable game with three runs plated before the pen imploded. The LAD attack simply never got untracked on six hits and three free passes with Juan Uribe and Carl Crawford driving in runs. Left hander Chris Capuano takes the bump to face the Marlins for the second time in 2013. Capuano has not thrown the ball all that well but has been a benefactor of the Dodgers hot play with the team winning six straight times he has been on the mound.

Miami came up with one of their biggest wins in 2013 after downing the Dodgers on Tuesday. The hottest team in recent memory met their match in Jose Fernandez who has been one of the best hurlers in the game and simply wasn't intimidated by Los Angeles. Fernandez gave up a pair of runs (one earned) on four hits and a trio of base on balls, while recording eight strike outs through six innings pitched. The generally weak hitting Fish posted ten hits and walked twice, while Giancarlo Stanton left the yard and six different players knocked in runs and scored. Miami turns to Jacob Turner to cool down the white hot Dodgers on Tuesday night. Turner has been a steady member of the rotation but is struggling in the win column with runs scarse mixed in with a few let downs by the bull pen.
You can bet the world doesn't think the Dodgers will lose three in a row but Capuano is not a great option on the mound and needs runs to win. Small play on the visitors and nothing more for me because Miami can win this...
