The Milwaukee Brewers are having a rough season and it didn’t get any better on Monday as they lost to the Cardinals. Jonathan Lucroy had three hits and Norichika Aoki and Aramis Ramirez hit home runs as the Brewers scored five runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Marco Estrada allowed eight hits and four earned runs while striking out four over 6.0 innings to not factor in the decision as Brandon Kintzler blew the save and took the loss to fall to 3-1 on the season. For Tuesday’s game the Brewers start Kyle Lohse who took a loss in his last outing. For the season Lohse has allowed 146 hits and 54 earned runs while striking out 101 over 153.1 innings for a 8-8 record and a 3.17 ERA.

The St. Louis Cardinals never gave in on Monday as they came back and rallied for the win in Milwaukee. Carlos Beltran had three hits including a home run, Yadier Molina had four hits, and Jon Jay hit a home run as the Cardinals scored eight runs on 16 hits. Starting pitcher Shelby Miller allowed allowed five hits and two runs while striking out right over 5.1 innings for a no decision as Michael Wacha got the win to go to 2-0 on the year and Edward Mujica earned his 32nd save. For Tuesday’s game the Cardinals start Lance Lynn who has been hit and miss this year. For the season Lynn has allowed 135 hits and 67 earned runs while striking out 151 over 155 innings for a 13-6 record and a 3.89 ERA.
Milwaukee is 2-6 in their last at games as a home underdog, 5-2 in game two of a series, and 5-1 in Lohse’s last six starts. St. Louis is 5-2 in their last seven games as a favorite, 6-2 in their last eight road games, and 1-4 in Lynn’s last five road starts. St. Louis is 5-0 in their last five games in Milwaukee.
