The St. Louis Cardinals battle the Milwaukee Brewers in Wednesday's rubber match.
St. L took the opener 8-5, but blew a 3-0 lead on Tuesday to fall 6-3. The Cards seemed to be in control after Yadier Molina's two-run blast during the top of the fourth; however, Lance Lynn (13-7, 3.97 ERA) threw his worst frame of the night during the Milwaukee fourth.

Lynn yielded five runs alone during the fourth inning. Scooter Gennett, two Sean Halton and Logan Schafer singles along with a Norichika Aoki sacrifice fly scored runs for the Brewers. Mike Adams got St. Louis' first run in on a RBI-singe. Kolten Wong was the only Cardinal to get three hits, but was 0-of-1 with Runners In Scoring Position and never made his way home.
Jake Westbrook (7-8, 4.35 ERA) tries to snap a four-game skid Wednesday by beating Milwaukee. On May 2 Westbrook won 6-5 at Miller Park by conceding a run during six frames so to think he can repeat the feat in August seems quite plausible despite his recent troubles.
Westbrook's last four starts, three on the road, have seen him give up 25 runs, 24 earned, during 21.1 innings. The good news for St. L was the worst start came at home against the Los Angeles Dodgers letting in nine runs during 4.2 frames. Unfortunately the Brewers are 46-of-132 with 17 RBIs, four each Corey Hart's and Aramis Ramirez's, against Westbrook.
Tom Gorzelanny (3-4, 2.95 ERA) gets the start next for Milwaukee who is 8-14 with him throwing at Miller this year. Gorzelanny however has just one victory at Miller Park coming April 30 versus the Pittsburgh Pirates with one blank inning.
Gorzelanny's Miller Park losses came to the New York Mets and San Diego Padres in July yielding seven runs, five earned, during 11.2 frames. The Cards have seen Gorzelanny five times striking in two runs during five innings. Gorzelanny blew a save May 4 versus St. Louis. The Brewers are 1-4 against the Cardinals when Gorzelanny makes an appearance. St. L is 24-of-76 with 14 RBIs, three apiece from Carlos Beltran and Allen Craig, versus Gorzelanny. The Cards should triumph.
