The Boston Red Sox try to rebound Wednesday to a 3-2 loss at the San Francisco Giants.
Boston blew a 2-0 lead in SF. Jake Peavy (9-5, 4.25 ERA) was pulled quickly afrer 5.2 frames while Ryan Vogelsong (2-4, 6.29 ERA) was taken out after seven innigs. The Sox struck right away on Vogelsong thanks to Mike Carp's sacrifice fly. Shane Victorino's home run during the top of the third made it 2-0 Boston.

The Giants though scored their first run on Joaquin Arias' triple during the bottom of the fifth. San Francisco then squared things on Buster Posey's sac fly. Marco Scutaro's walk-off walk punctuated the Giants' comeback versus the Red Sox.
Felix Doubront (8-6, 3.95 ERA) goes next for Boston who has won his last three road outings. Doubront is 4-2 in away games just tumbling to the Chicago White Sox and Texas Rangers in May yielding eight runs during 9.2 innings.
Doubront's road victories have come at the Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Angels, New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners surrendering six runs during 24.2 frames. SF is 1-of-7 with a Tony Abreu RBI all-time against Doubront.
The Giants return to the bump with Chad Gaudin (5-2, 3.06 ERA) who hasn't had a decision in three August starts. San Francisco has though won all three of his August outings including a four-inning eight-run offering April 16 at the Miami Marlins. At AT&T Park the Giants are 9-8 when Gaudin gets the assignment.
Gaudin alone is 1-2 at AT&T just downing the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-0 July 19 with seven stellar frames. In home losses to Arizona and the Cincinnati Reds Gaudin gave up seven runs during four innings. The Sox are 19-of-69 with 14 RBIs, seven Mike Napoli's, versus Gaudin. Boston's bats bite Gaudin and SF's relievers.
