The Colorado Rockies have struggled on the road for quite some time and we saw it again on Wednesday, as they were unable to hold on. Dexter Fowler, Michael Cuddyer, and Nolan Arenado each had two hits as the Rockies scored three runs on 11 hits. Juan Nicasio allowed seven hits and two runs, one of them earned, and he struck out three to get a no decision as Rafael Bteancourt blew the save and took the loss to fall to 2-4 on the season. For Thursday’s game the Rockies start Chad Bettis, who has yet to win this season. For the year Bettis has allowed 21 hits and 17 earned runs while striking out eight over 18.2 innings for a 0-2 record and a 5.30 ERA.
Philadelphia is 7-22 in their last 29 games overall, 5-9 in their last 14 home games, and 1-4 in Kendrick’s last five starts. Colorado is 26-57 in their last 83 road games, 2-13 against the NL East, and 1-7 in their last eight road games against a right-handed starter. Colorado is 5-18 in their last 23 games in Philadelphia.
We should see plenty of scoring here and for my first free pick I like the over. My second free pick is on the winning side and I will give that Free Pick out on Thursday’s 1stQuarter Podcast.
