The Arizona Diamondbacks start a series with the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on Friday. Arizona didn't help their playoff chances during their last series, losing three of four games at the Cincinnati Reds.
The D-Backs were defeated 2-1 Thursday, despite having two more hits, 7-5. Arizona scampered in a run on an Aaron Hill fourth-inning RBI-single. Adam Eaton came around to score. Trevor Cahill (4-10, 4.56 ERA) got a no-decision, despite going seven strong frames.

Similarly, Philadelphia was in position to lose three of four games to the visiting Colorado Rockies. The Phillies, however, rallied in the finale 5-4 after trailing 4-1. Cody Asche's double drove in Dominic Brown during the bottom of the second for a 1-0 lead.
Philadelphia then pulled within a run on Darin Ruf's home run during the eighth. Michael Young's single tied things the next inning, which also saw Brown win it with a walk-off single. Kyle Kendrick (10-10, 4.45 ERA) avoided the loss, despite tossing five frames.
The Phillies hand the baseball over to Cole Hamels (5-13, 3.61 ERA) for Friday's opener. Hamels has had his fair share of lumps, although he hasn't fallen at Citizens Bank since June 21, giving up four runs during six innings. Hamels conceded seven runs during 38 frames in his last five starts, two wins and three no-decisions.
Hamels is 2-6 at Citizens Bank Park overall. May 9 in Arizona, the Diamondbacks knocked in two runs during six innings to dispatch Hamels 2-1. The D-Backs are 39-of-153 with 18 RBIs, seven Cody Ross', versus Hamels.
Arizona calls Wade Miley (9-8, 3.56 ERA) to the mound next. Miley is 4-6 on the road at Chase Field this season, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals and Tampa Bay Rays, giving up six runs during 26.2 frames.
In Miley's away defeats, the opposion has scored 24 runs, 18 of them unearned, during 35 innings. The Diamondbacks are 6-10 when Miley hurls on the road. Miley dumped Philadelphia 9-5 last year due to six scoreless frames. The Phillies are 4-of-17 with a Casper Wells RBI against Miley. I'm going with Arizona.
