The Chicago White Sox and the Texas Rangers face off on Saturday as they play game two of their series.

Alejandro De Aza and Dayan Viciedo each had two hits and Gordon Beckham and Alexei Ramirez each had hits as the White Sox scored five runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Chris Sale allowed eight hits and eight runs while striking out six over 7.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 9-12 on the season. For Saturday’s game the White Sox start Hector Santiago who had a win in his last start. For the season Santiago has allowed 108 hits and 45 earned runs while striking out 120 over 123.2 innings for a 4-7 record and a 3.27 ERA.

The Texas Rangers are starting to extend their lead in the AL West and they helped themselves on Friday getting a convincing win in Chicago. Ian Kinsler, Adrian Beltre, Jeff Baker, Mitch Moreland, and Adam Rosales all hit home runs as the Rangers scored 11 runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Martin Kinsler allowed eight hits and four runs while striking out three over 7.0 innings to get the win and go to 7-3 on the season. For Saturday’s game the Rangers start Yu Darvish who has won his last three decisions. For the season Darvish has allowed 110 hits and 48 earned runs while striking out 214 over 161 innings for a 12-5 record and a 2.68 ERA.
Chicago is 6-1 in their last seven games, 8-2 against a team with a winning record, and 5-12 in Santiago’s last 17 starts. Texas is 9-0 in their last nine road games, 16-3 in their last 19 games as a favorite, and 4-1 in Darvish’s last five starts against a team with a losing record. Texas is 1-5 in their last six games in Chicago.
The Rangers are simply red hot right now and while the White Sox are playing good baseball, the Rangers are just at a different level.
