The Baltimore Orioles and the Oakland A’s face off on Sunday for the rubber match of their weekend series.
The Baltimore Orioles are fighting to get into the post season but their hopes took a blow on Saturday as they lost to the A’s. Ryan Flaherty hit a home run, Nate McLouth had two hits, and Manny Machado added a hit as the Orioles scored one run on five hits in all. Starting pitcher Chris Tillman allowed three hits and a run while striking out nine over 8.0 innings for a no decision as Darren O’Day took the loss to fall to 5-3 on the season. For Sunday’s game the Orioles start Scott Feldman who won last time out. Since being traded to Baltimore in early July Feldman has allowed 47 hits and 26 earned runs while striking out 34 over 48.1 innings for a 3-3 record and a 4.84 ERA.

For Sunday’s game the A’s start Sonny Gray who is making his fourth career start. For the season Gray has allowed 12 hits and four earned runs while striking out27 over 25 innings for a 1-1 record and a 1.44 ERA.
Baltimore is 4-2 in their last six games as a home favorite, 9-5 against the AL West, and 2-9 in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record. Oakland is 10-4 in game three of a series, 3-8 in their last 11 games as a road underdog, and 12-5 against the American League East. Oakland is 77-35 in the last 112 meetings of these two.
I see another pitcher’s duel on the way and for my free pick I am going back to the under. I also have a strong play on the winning side and I will post that pick in the Premium Area.
