The San Francisco Giants try to snag a split at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday after SF prevailed 6-3 in Game Three.
The Giants used a four-run first inning to carry them to victory. San Francisco scored on Buster Posey's, Brett Pill's and Gregor Blanco's singles as well as a Pablo Sandoval groundout. Sandoval singled home a Giant later to lead the team with two RBIs.

Pittsburgh wasn't as productive although Tony Sanchez had a pair of RBIs on 2-of-4 hitting. Aside from Sanchez homering and singling in a run the Pirates scored via Gaby Sanchez's RBI-single during the top of the sixth.
A.J. Burnett (6-8, 3.09 ERA) pitches next for Pittsburgh either being quite effective or the opposite in his last 11 starts. Five times the opposition has pounded in at least four runs off of Burnett. The Pirates are winless when that has happened since June. As well Burnett has let in two runs or fewer six times with Pittsburgh just once going down 4-3 at the Chicago Cubs July 7.
Burnett is 3-5 on the road beating Chicago, the San Diego Padres and St. Louis Cardinals by surrendering five runs during 21.1 frames. Burnett's fallen five times in away appearances due to giving up 20 runs, 16 earned, during 28.2 innings. SF fell 13-2 last July 8 to Burnett who went 6.1 strong frames of two-run baseball. The Giants are 16-of-59 with a pair of Sandoval RBIs versus Burnett.
San Francisco responds with Ryan Vogelsong (2-4, 6.29 ERA) who has only tossed in a dozen games. Vogelsong's AT&T Park no-decisions have seen the Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers write in 15 runs during 24.2 innings. LA alone laced in seven runs during 4.2 frames May 4 in a 10-9 Giants victory. Vogelsong is 1-2 to boot at AT&T just beating the Washington Nationals with five scoreless innings.
The Atlanta Braves and St. L waxed Vogelsong for 11 runs during 9.2 frames. SF is 4-3 when Vogelsong gets the start at AT&T Park this season. Last year the Pirates beat Vogelsong 4-1 at AT&T due to knocking in two runs during 6.1 innings. In Pittsburgh Vogelsong gave up three runs during seven frames to fall 3-1. The Pirates are 22-of-86 with 10 RBIs, three Neil Walker's, versus Vogelsong.
