The Houston Astros looked to have a win in their sights on Tuesday, but they let it get away and took another loss. Robbie Grossman and Matt Domingues each had three hits and Jason Castro had a hit as the Astros scored three runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Paul Clemens allowed four hits and a run, while striking out two over 6.0 innings to get a no decision, while Erik Bedard blew the save and took the loss to fall to 3-10 on the year. For Wednesday’s game, Houston starts Jarred Cosart who took his first loss of the year in his last start. For the season, Cosart has allowed 32 hits and eight earned runs, while striking out 21 over 45 innings for a 1-1 record and a 1.60 ERA.
Chicago is 9-2 in their last 11 games, 8-20 as a favorite, and 16-7 in Sale’s last 23 home starts. Houston is 14-38 in their last 52 games, 16-50 in game three of a series, and 1-4 in Cosart’s last five starts. Houston is 6-3 in their last nine game in Chicago.
The White Sox have finally put it together and while it is too late for this year, they have their ace going in this one and they look to be a solid play.
