The Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets meet early on Wednesday afternoon as they close out their series in Atlanta.
The Atlanta Braves are cruising towards the postseason as they won again on Tuesday against the Mets. Evan Gattis had three hits including a home run, B.J. Upton had two hits, and Andrelton Simmons hit a homer as the Braves scored three runs on seven hits. Kris Medlen allowed seven hits and seven runs, while striking out nine over 7.0 innings to get the win and Craig Kimbrel earned his 44th save. The Braves give the start on Wednesday to Kameron Loe, who is making his first start of the season after pitching out of the bullpen for three different teams this season. Since joining the Braves, Loe has amassed a 10.12 ERA in 2.2 innings of work.

The New York Mats grabbed the lead on Tuesday in the sixth inning, but it lasted just one inning as they fell to the braves. On Tuesday, Eric Young and Omar Quintanilla each had two hits and Daniel Murphy had a hit as the Mets scored once on eight hits. Starting pitcher Carlos Torres allowed seven hits and three runs, while striking out six over seven innings to take the loss. On Wednesday, the Mets start Dillon Gee, who is having his best year as a pro with a 10-9 record and 3.63 ERA and 2-1 with a 2.53 ERA in his last three starts.
Atlanta is 9-2 in game three of a series, 41-14 as a home favorite, and 36-16 in their last 52 games. New York is 3-10 against a team with a winning record, 2-9 in their last 11 games as an underdog, and 5-1 in Gee’s last six starts as a road underdog of up to +150. New York is 10-22 in the last 32 meetings of these two.
The Braves have been tough and even tougher at home and while Gee is the far better option, the Braves as a team are the much better option.
