2013-09-07 05:05:00 EDT
The Cleveland Indians and the New York Mets meet on Saturday for game two of their interleague series.
The Cleveland Indians got out in front of the Mets early on Friday and never let up in getting the win. Nick Swisher had two hits including a home run and Yan Gomes and Drew Stubbs each had two hits as the Indians scored eight runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Scott Kazmir allowed four hits and struck out 12 over 6.0 scoreless innings cruising to the win. For Saturday’s game the Indians start Corey Kluber who doesn’t have a decision in his last three starts but he has a 2.86 ERA over the span and he has a 7-5 record and a 3.54 ERA for the season.
The New York Mets have been up and down this season but they had no answers on Friday as they were trounced by the Indians. Justin Turner hit a home run, Juan Lagares had two hits, and Daniel Murphy had a hit as the Mets scored one run on seven hits. Starting pitcher Zack Wheeler didn’t have his best stuff as he allowed five hits and three runs, over five innings to take the loss. For Saturday’s game the Mets start Jon Niese who is 6-6 with a 3.66 ERA for the season and 1-0 with a 1.25 ERA in his last three starts.
Cleveland is 13-4 in their last 17 games as a home favorite, 13-5 in their last 18 games against a left-handed starter, and 6-1 in Kluber’s last seven starts. New York is 9-2 in their last 11 interleague games, 1-6 in their last seven games against the AL Central, and 6-1 in Kluber’s last seven home starts. New York is 5-2 in their last seven games in Cleveland.

I lost with the Mets on Friday but I like them to strike back here and at this price we end up ahead for the series.
