The Cincinnati Reds look to even their series with the Los Angeles Dodgers Saturday afternoon.
The mighty Dodgers proved to be human once again in a 3-2 defeat at Great American Ball Park Friday. The offense stalled and a solid perfomance went by the wayside to saddle Los Angeles with rare consecutive defeats. Starter Chris Capuano left after 1.2 innings with an injury with Stephen Fife giving up a pair of runs, while JP Howelltook the loss with a run given up as the team used seven hurlers to get through eight frames. The offense was Hanley Ramirez, who belted a two run bomb in the first inning. The Dodgers send a surging Zack Greinke to the bump in game two versus the Reds. Greinke has been a a major contributor to his team's hot streak, with six consecutive victories and seven in ten.

Cincinnati doesn't control their own fate in the National League Central so the only thing they can do is continue to win and hope the Cardinals and Pirates falter. The Reds held up their end of the bargain Friday and have won four of five overall. A struggling Mike Leake regained his early season form against the formiddable Dodgers. Leake gave up both runs on just five hits covering 7.2 frames to improve to 12-6 with Arnoldis Chapman picking up save number 35. The Cincy attack consisted of seven hits with Joey Votto swinging the big bat with a two run jack that proved to be the game winning blow. Mat Latos is scheduled to be on the mound Saturday hoping to slow down the Los Angeles attack. Cincinnati has been leaning hard on Latos who has gone 6-3 with a no decision over his last ten times out.
I was on the Dodgers Friday and was bitten by some bad luck with Capuano getting hurt. The team now faces a three game skid with Greinke needing another big game and I'll back him as a dog.
