Minnesota Twins vs. Toronto Blue Jays Free Pick - 9/7/13

The surging Toronto Blue Jays hope to keep rolling at the Minnesota Twins on Saturday night.
Every team goes through hot and cold streaks an Toronto is no different. The Blue Jays are hot right now but the problem is it’s too little, too late to make a difference in the American League East. The Jays out lasted Minnesota 6-5 on Friday for win number eight in eleven contest where the arms and bats have done well. However it was the bats that saved the day with RA Dickey allowing three runs in 6.1 frames before the pen made things interesting. The bats made the most of seven hits with Moises Sierra and Brett Lawrie knocking in two runs each. Left hander JA Happ will be on the hill Saturday looking to keep the Jays hot against Minnesota. Happ has struggled the last three times out with an 0-3 record and a hefty 7.71 ERA.
After winning four of five Minnesota has dropped back to back contests by identical 6-5 counts. The one thing the Twins fans know is the bad times have lasted longer and been more frequent then the good times. The pitching just didn’t hold up Friday and that fell on the shoulders of Mike Pelfrey who is as predictable as the weather. Pelfrey was in his normal state with all six runs given up (five earned) through six innings pitched which put all the pressure on the offense. Josmil Pinto and Chris Clabello going deep with the latter driving in three runs. Kevin Correia toes the rubber agaist the Blue Jays Saturday night at Target Field. Correia shoots for win number ten and might get it if he continues to thitem the ball well where he has posted a 1.31 ERA in his last three.
Happ has had a rough season and I think if you lay money on Correia you are crossing your fingers at some point. The way both teams are hitting I think the over has a shot of falling…
