The playoff hopeful Baltimore Orioles and Chicgo White Sox battle in Sunday action at Camden Yards.
The White Sox played well Saturday, but in the end had dropped a narrow 4-3, ten-inning decision to Baltimore on Saturday. Chicago was playing about as well as they have in 2013 a few short weeks ago, but are now mired in a nine game slide where neither the arms or bats have come through. Neither could get over the hump Saturday, with Hector Santiago allowing two runs in five frames before Addison Reed gave up a pair of 10th inning runs after Chicago had taken a 3-2 lead. Chicago received homers from Dayan Viciedo and Conor Gillaspie deep , who went deep with the latter giving his team the lead in the 10th. The White Sox next give the ball to rookie Andre Rienzo, who faces the Orioles for the first time in his career. Rienzo hopes to rebound from consecutive performances where he has allowed ten runs in nine innings.

Baltimore has got to win games and keep winning going forward or their postseason dreams will be history. The Orioles won number three in a row after a 10th inning rally paved the way to a much needed victory. The work on the mound has been carrying the load in this span and Wei-Yin Chen was outstanding with a pair of runs given up through six innings, while striking out eight. Tommy Hunter picked up the win, despite giving up a 10th inning jack when Matt Weiters smacked a walkoff two run single. Brian Roberts went solo and Chris Davis drove in another, with the O's still lacking explosiveness at the plate. Bud Norris takes the ball for the Orioles Sunday when he faces the White Sox for the second time in 2013. Norris is coming in off of one of his best efforts in a 7-2 win at Cleveland with one run allowed seven frames.
The White Sox won't keep losing, but it's tough to back a slumping team, even though I don't think the Orioles are really clicking. Just betting on both streaks to continue with the O's having so much at stake.
