The Minnesota Twins and the Toronto Blue Jays close out their series on Sunday at Target Field in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Twins have had a rough few years and it didn’t get much better for them on Saturday, as they were clubbed by the Jays. Alex Pressley, Brian Dozier, Trevor Plouffe, and Oswaldo Arcia each had two hits, as the Twins scored just two runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Kevin Correia allowed seven hits and five runs, while striking out four over 6.0 innings, taking the loss and falling to 9-11 on the year. For Sunday’s game, the Twins start Andrew Albers who is 2-2 on the season, with a 3.96 ERA and 0-1 in his last three starts with a 7.53 ERA.

The Toronto Blue jays have been playing well of late, as they showed with their win on Saturday. Adam Lind hit two home runs, Brett Lawrie had three hits, including a home run, and Jose Reyes and Rajai Davis added two hits as the Blue Jays scored 11 runs on 15 hits. J.A. Happ went 5.2 innings, allowing five hits and a run, while striking out four to get the win. For Sunday’s game, the Blue Jays start Esmil Rogers, who is 4-7 with a 4.76 ERA for the season and 1-0 with a 2.60 ERA in his last three starts.
Minnesota is 4-9 in their last 13 games, 7-20 in their last 27 home games, and 0-4 in their last four games as a home favorite. Toronto is 5-1 in their last six road games, 4-1 in their last five games overall, and 206 in Rogers’ last eight starts. Toronto is 19-7 in their last 26 games in Minnesota.
The Twins have shown me no reason to look in their direction in this series and I like the Jays to win easily.
