The New York Yankees head to Camden Yards to take the field with the Baltimore Orioles.
The Yankees were playing well before first place Boston came to town and took three straight. The Bronx Bombers might have picked up some momentum by knocking off the Red Sox 4-3 Sunday with a 9th inning run winning it. Hiroki Kuroda brushed aside a personal slump by giving up two runs on five hits and two BB over six innings pitched, but received a no decision when Will Middlebrooks homered to tie the score in the 9th. The Yanks won it when Ichiro Suzuki scored the game winner on a wild pitch- while Robinson Cano knocked in two. Veteran left-hander CC Sabathia is charged with keeping the Yankees playoff hopes alive at Baltimore on Monday. Sabathia has gone 2-1 in his last three appearances, with an ERA just north of five.

Baltimore is in the same boat as the division rival Yankees as they have to do a lot of winning to close the year and give themselves a fighting chance to gain a spot in the postseason. The Orioles had rattled off three wins in a row, but the White Sox denied them a 4th in a 4-2 decision Sunday. The Birds haven't been hitting and scoring like we saw earlier in the year and I don't think they can win strictly on pitching alone. The O's won't win if they get what we saw Sunday from starter Bud Norris, who was charged with four runs plated on nine hits through 4.1 innings pitched. Adam Jones paced the offense with a soloo homer, while a FC scored a second run in the 9th. Chris Tillman takes the ball Monday, looking to build on his team high 15 victories against the Yankees. Tillman has posted a 15-5 record with a 3.71 ERA, while enjoying plenty of run support.
I am a Baltimore fan, which means I don't have any love for the Yankees so I'm hoping Baltimore wins 10-0 but I just want a win...
