The Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers face off on Tuesday for game two of their series.
The Chicago White Sox are reduced to the role of spoiler this season and they helped the Indians on Monday by beating the Tigers. Conor Gillaspie and Dayan Viciedo each had two hits and Paul Konerko added a hit as the White Sox scored five runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Chris Sale allowed four hits and a run while striking out eight to get his 11th win of the season. For Tuesday’s game the White Six start Erik Johnson who in his only career start allowed seven hits and three earned runs taking the loss fir a 4.50 ERA.

The Detroit Tigers couldn’t figure out Chris Sale as they lost in Chicago on Monday. Victor Martinez had two hits including a home run and Nick Castellanos and Jose Iglesias each had hits as the Tigers managed just one runand four hits. Starting pitcher Max Scherzer failed to earn his 20th win and took his third loss of the year as he allowed six hits and five runs, four earned, while striking out six and lasting just 4.0 innings. For Tuesday’s game the Tigers start Rick Porcello who is 11-8 with a 4.76 ERA and 2-1 with a 6.62 ERA in his last three starts.
Chicago is 6-0 in their last six games against the A.L. Central, 5-1 in their last six home games, and 2-9 in their last 11 games. Detroit is 5-2 in their last seven games as a road favorite, 1-5 in their last six road games, and 8-3 in Porcello’s last 11 starts. Detroit is 39-17 in the last 56 meetings of these two.
The White Sox would want nothing more than to ruin the Tigers season but look for the Tigers to bounce back and get the win here.
