Busch Stadium and the St Louis Cardinals hosthe rival Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday.
Milwaukee was obviously hoping this late season series meant something but the only thing it means for the Brew Crew is a win keeps them out of the National League Central basement at the expense of the Cardinals which would be satisfying. Milwaukee might be in the early stages of a hot streak after a 3-1 win at Chicago on Sunday was their third in four games. Yovani Gallardo looked like his old self with one run allowed in seven innings while Jeff Bianchi smacked a two run pinch hit single. Milwaukee turns to Wily Peralta who faces the Cardinals looking for win number ten. Peralta has had a few outstanding performances but is still 9-14 with a 4.51 ERA covering 29 2013 starts.

The Cardinals just won't go away and Cincinnati and Pittsburgh can attest to that after a three game sweep of the Pirates has the Redbirds back on top in the National League Central. The offense hit the ball well versus the Buccos which makes this a tough team to deal with when the work on the mound shows up. That was a winning combination in a 9-2 rout of the visiting Pirates on Sunday. Michael Wacha dominated the Pitt attack with a three hit shut out through seven innings while also leading the offense with two RBI's. Right hander Shelby Miller will looking to control the visiting Brewers attack when he takes the mound Tuesday. Miller has been steady in the rotation with a 12-9 mark and 3.19 ERA over 27 starts.
The Cardinals have to keep winning with the Reds and Pirates right on their tail. If Peralta doesn't throw one of his gems then I feel the Cardinals win but the juice is ugly as expected...
