The San Francisco Giants will have their hands full on Thursday night, when the Giants head to Dodger Stadium to face the LA Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are basically in cruise control at this point in the season as the Dodgers make a run at the playoffs. The Dodgers off a series win over the Diamondbacks, that saw Los Angeles take two of three from Arizona. The Dodgers will be sending out Zack Greinke on the Thursday against San Francisco. Greinke is 14-3 on the year with a solid ERA of 2.79. Greinke has just one career start against the Giants. In that start, Greinke went five and one thirds innings, giving up four runs off of seven hits, earning a no decision. Greinke has been on fire lately. The Dodgers starter has an ERA of 2.08 and a WHIP of .923 in his last three starts.

The San Francisco Giants will have Matt Cain on the mound Thursday against the Dodgers. Cain has a ton of experience against the Dodgers, having 26 career starts against Los Angeles, with an ERA of 3.58 and a WHIP of 1.36. In Cain’s last start against the Dodgers, Cain got shelled, lasting just two and one thirds innings, giving up eight runs off of six hits, walking four. Cain has really been slumping lately, having an ERA of 3.78 and a WHIP of 1.290 in his last three starts.
The Giants have been atrocious on the road this season, having a road record of just 29-42 on the year. The Dodgers are killing it at home this season, having one of the better home records around, going 45-29 this season. The Giants do have a better record than the Dodgers against divisional opponents however, as the Giants are 37-29, against the Dodgers 30-29.
This is absolutely a ton of juice to be laying here. Personally I never lay anything this high, but I just can’t see backing the Giants in this spot. For that reason I will take the Dodgers and the run line here, but be cautious as run lines can be fickle to say the least.
