The Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Indians face off on Friday afternoon in Chicago for game two of their series.
The Chicago White Sox have just over two weeks until they can put this season behind them and for them it can’t come soon enough. On Thursday Avisail Garcia and Marcus Semien each had two hits and Adam Dunn and Paul Konerkp each had hits as they scored three runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher John Danks allowed nine hits and seven runs over four innings to take his 13th loss of the year. For Friday’s game the White Sox start hector Santiago who is 4-8 on the season with 3.44 ERA and 0-1 in his last three starts with a 4.80 ERA.

The Cleveland Indians are still fighting to make the playoffs as they are a game and a half out of the final Wildcard spot in the American League. On Thursday Michael Bourn, Ryan Raburn, and Asdrubal Cabrera each hit home runs as the Indians scored 14 runs on 16 hits. Starting pitcher Corey Kluber allowed six hits and two runs over 5.0 innings to get the win, his ninth of the year. For Friday’s game the Indians start Danny Salazar who is 1-2 on the season with a 2.92 ERA and 0-1 in his last three starts with a 1.93 ERA.
Chicago is 7-3 against the A.L. Central, 8-22 in game two in a series, and 6-14 in Santiago’s last 20 starts. Cleveland is 145 against a left-handed starter, 37-16 as a road favorite, and 2-5 in their last seven road games. Cleveland has won the last nine meetings of these two.
While it is a reach I look for the White Sox to rally and get the win here and at this price it is worth a small play.
