The Line: Los Angeles Dodgers -188 / San Francisco Giants +181 --- Over/Under: 6 See the Latest Odds
The San Francisco Giants will be looking for their first win of the series on Friday as the Giants face the Dodgers at Dodger stadium.
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants on Thursday night, but it took extra innings to do so. In the bottom of the tenth, Gonzalez singled to center, which drove in Crawford for the winning run. The Los Angeles Dodgers will be sending Clayton Kershaw to the mound on Friday to face off against the Giants. Kershaw has extensive experience against San Francisco, having 20 starts against the Giants under his belt. Kershaw has a lifetime record of 11-4 against the Giants, with an ERA of 1.32 and a WHIP of 0.82. In Kershaw’s last outing against San Francisco, Kershaw lasted eight innings, giving up one run off of just three hits, earning the win.

The San Francisco Giants are just playing for pride at this point in the season, but the Giants did show that they have some fight in them as San Francisco took the Dodgers to extra innings on Thursday. Madison Bumgarner will be on the mound for the Giants against the Dodgers on Friday. Bumgarner has ten career starts against the Giants, and has a 7-3 record with an ERA of 2.54 and a WHIP of 0.92 against San Francisco. In Bumgarner’s last outing against San Francisco, the Giants starter went seven full innings, giving up two runs off of three hits, earning the win.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are killing it at home this season, having a record of 45-29 at Dodger Stadium, while the Giants struggle on the road, going just 29-42 this season. The Dodgers are 24-23 this year against left handed starters, while the Giants are 21-28 against lefties.
The Giants look like a great value play here. Bumgarner has been solid against the Dodgers, and in his last three starts overall, Bumgarner has an ERA of 2.60 with a WHIP of 0.981. Kershaw is outstanding against the Giants, but the Dodgers lefty has struggled a bit lately, going 1-1 in his last three outings with an ERA of 4.07 and a WHIP of 0.912. The under is a possibility as well. Bumgarner has four overs to eleven unders on the road this season, while Kershaw has five overs to ten unders while starting at home.
My free pick here will be on the Giants, but if you aren’t comfortable taking San Francisco to beat the Dodgers outright, an under play is perfectly fine as well.
