The Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays face off on Saturday in Toronto for game two of their series.
The Toronto Blue Jays got off to a solid start on Friday, but they were unable to hold on as they took another loss. Adam Lind and Colby Rasmus each hit home runs and Jose Reyes added a hit, as the Blue Jays scored three runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Todd Redmond allowed three hits and a run, while striking out seven over 6.1 innings to not factor in the decision as Steve Delabar took the loss. For Saturday’s game, the Blue Jays start Esmil Rogers, who is 5-7 with a 4.46 ERA for the season and 2-0 with a 1.89 ERA in his last three starts.

The Baltimore Orioles are hanging on to their postseason hopes by a thread and they kept them alive by getting the win on Friday. Chris Davis hit his 50th home run, Adam Jones had three hits, and Nate McLouth had two hits, as the Orioles scored five runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Jason Hammel allowed three hits and three runs to not factor in the decision as Tommy Hunter got the win and Jim Johnson earned his 44th save. For Saturday’s game, the Orioles start Chris Tillman, who is 16-5 with a 3.66 ERA for the season and 2-1 with a 3.72 ERA in his last three starts.
Toronto is 2-7 against the A.L. East, 0-5 in their last five home games, and 1-4 in Rodgers’ last five home starts. Baltimore is 4-9 in their last 13 home games, 6-1 against a team with a losing record, and 10-3 in Tillman’s last 13 road starts. Baltimore is 13-39 in their last 52 games in Toronto.
Tillman has simply been sensational this year and I look for it to continue here against a Blue Jays team who has underachieved all season long.
