The Tampa Bay Rays look to keep their playoff hopes alive with an victory at Target Field Sunday.
Tampa Bay won't be catching Boston for the American League East crown but it's not out of the question to see this team capture one of the Wild Cards with a strong finish. A strong finish isn't a guarantee for a team that wasn't playing great but have won three straight following a 7-0 decision at Minnesota Saturday. Matt Moore tossed three scoreless innings with five relievers following suit. The bats were just as impressive with ten hits and five walks that saw Desmond Jennings rap a pair of RBI hits. Left hander David Price takes the mound shooting for a win over the host Twins. Price has dropped three in a row but has generally thrown well with eight quality starts in ten outings.

The Twins are playing for pride which is common for many teams at this time of the season. Minnesota also has several players looking to finish the year strong and secure a roster spot for the 2014 season. Following Saturday's defeat the Twins have dropped eight of eleven where both the work on the mound and at the plate have come up short. That trend continued Saturday with starter Andrew Albers lasting four innings and allowing four runs on six hits with the relief corp unable to hold the fort. That was too much for a Minnesota attack that had four hits and walked four times and were missing the clutch hit. Pedro Hernandez toes the rubber looking to derail the visiting Rays postseason drive. Hernandez has accumulated a 3-1 record despite carrying a 5.25 ERA.
I favor Tampa Bay but the huge juice on the road isn't something we see often. I don't even think this is worth betting if you back the Rays...
