The St Louis Cardinals look to rebound from Saturday's loss versus visiting Seattle.
Seattle is playing for pride right now with the main goal being to make life as difficult as possible for any team with postseason dreams. It was mission accomplished Saturday with the Mariners downing the Cardinals 4-1. When the bats score a few runs they have to win and did just that behind rookie James Paxon who threw a two hit shut out over six frames to end a five game slide. The offense made that a winning effort with a seven hit, five walk attack that saw Kendrys Morales going deep while Franklin Gutierrez driving in two runs. Seattle turns to Erasmo Ramirez to the mound to control the heavy hitting St Louis lineup Sunday. Ramirez hopes to build on his best performance of 2013 when he tossed six scoreless frames against Tampa Bay.

Even though the Cardinals have been playing great the room for error at the top of the National League Central is slim at best. Right now the room for error is non existent with Saturday's defeat combining with Pittsburgh winning creating a first place tie in the division. The Cardinals might have the best balance between their arms and bats in the Central but the bats didn't show up Saturday. Michael Wacha was victimized by a lack of support with two runs allowed in five frames ending up as a loss with the pen allowing two more which didn't matter with the Redbirds mustering a mere three hits with e lone run scoring on a wild pitch. The Cardinals put their first place drive in the NL Central on the shoulders of Shelby Miller Sunday. Miller tossed one of his best games last time out when he beat Milwaukee 4-2 with 6.2 shut out frames.
We talk a lot about must win games and this is the very definition with a loss possibly costing St Louis the NL Central. I will go with the Cards but not the juice which makes the value zero in my view...
