The slumping Chicago White Sox host the Minnesota Twins in AL Central action on Monday.
After suffering through consecutive shut outs the Twins exploded late to out score Tampa Bay 6-5. The Twins snapped a four game losing streak but have dropped eight of eleven overall with neither the arms and bats producing. The offense saved the day Sunday with starter Pedro Hernandez allowing three runs on four hits and four BB in five innings. That looked like a losing effort before Josmil Pinto connected on a three run bomb with Ryan Doumit went solo while Chris Pamalee rapped a two run single. Minnesota turns to Liam Hendricks to pitch the team past the slumping White Sox Monday. Hendricks has back to back no decisions to his credit where he has allowed six earned runs over 9.2 frames.

The bad news for the White Sox is they have dropped nine of eleven but the good news is this won't last much longer with the season ending in a few weeks. Chicago simply can't score and their pitching has been okay at best but neither showed up in a 7-1 defeat at the hands of visiting Cleveland on Sunday. Even Chris Sale couldn't get the job done with the lanky left hander charged with six runs which was a mountain to climb for a struggling offense. The bats totaled seven hits and walked once with Josh Phegley singling in Jeff Keppinger. Rookie Erik Johnson toes the rubber in Monday's outing against visiting Minnesota. Johnson is 0-2 with eleven runs allowed (five earned) on 14 hits and six bases on balls covering 9.2 innings of work.
I say run, don't walk from this one and if you wan to know why then simply glance at the records. The line is not out so please check back but hopefully you have ran far away at this point.
