The Kansas City Royals and the Cleveland Indians face off on Wednesday in KC in a battle of two Wildcard hopefuls.
The Kansas City Royals lost ground on a citemded pack in the American League Wildcard as they lost to the Indians on Tuesday. Eric Hosmer, Billy Butler, and Salvador Perez each had hits as the Royals scored three runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Yordano Ventura allowed five hits and a run while striking out three to not get a decision and Wade Davis ended up taking the loss. For Wednesday’s game the Royals start Bruce Chen who is 7-3 for the season wit a 3.11 ERA but he is coming off of a loss in his last starts.
The Cleveland Indians put themselves right in the middle of the A.L. Wildcard race and it is far from decided. On Tuesday Micahel Bourn hit a home run, Asdrubal Cabrera had two hits, and Carlos Santana had a hit as the Indians scored five run on eight hits, Starting pitcher Corey Kluber allowed six hits and three runs over 4.1 innings to get a no decision as Cody Allen got the win and Chris Perez earned his 25th save. For Wednesday’s game the Royals start Danny Salazar who is 1-2 with a 2.66 ERA.
It would be huge for either of these teams to make the post season as they have flown under the radar all the way but this one looks to be a lean to the under. I also have a play on the winning side and I will post that in he Premium Area.
