The playoff bound Boston Red Sox host the Toronto Blue Jays in AL East action on Saturday.
Toronto has been playing around .500 baseball over the past week or so, but win or lose, the Blue Jays are in the basement in the American League East. Sometimes the Jays hit and sometimes they get pitching and sometimes neither stand out, which we saw Saturday in a 6-3 default at Fenway Park. Esmil Rogers lasted 2.1 frames with two runs allowed before Neil Wagner let this one slip away with three more runs given up. The bats posted ten hits with Adam Lind swinging the big bat with a two run jack. Veteran left hander Mark Buehrle takes the bump versus the heavy hitting Red Sox at Fenway Park. Buehrle has been winning over the past ten times out with a 5-2 record and a trio of no decisions.

Boston has looked like World Series material for quite awhile, especially when the offense was scoring almost at will. That hasn't been the case the past several games before the bats got back on track in Friday's win. The work on the mound contributed as well in a complete performance. Jon Lester picked up win number 15 with only a single run given up on five hits through seven innings, while striking out eight. The offense posted 12 hits and walked six times Mike Carp leading the way with a three RBI night. Clay Buchholz will look to stay undefeated when he gets the call to the mound versus the Blue Jays. Buchholz has won both starts since coming off the disabled list, with an unearned run allowed in eleven frames.
Buehrle is no slouch and can beat any body when at the top of his game. Having said that, Buchholz is having a dream season, despite a stint on the disabled list, so that's the way I'm going...
