The Minnesota Twins are closing out another disappointing season and they were reminded once again on Friday just how much work they have to do as they were pounded by the A’s. Josh Willingham and Eduardo Escpbar each had two hits and Oswaldo Arcia and Alex Presley each had hits as the Twins were shutout on six hits. Starting pitcher Andrew Albers was shelled allowing eight hit and eight runs over 4.2 innings to take the loss. For Saturday’s game the Twins start Pedro Hernandeez who is 3-1 with a 5.26 ERA for the season and 0-0 with a 4.60 ERA in his last three starts.
Oakland is 20-7 in their last 27 games, 5-2 following a win, and 10-4 in Parker’s last 14 home starts. Minnesota is 3-8 following a loss, 2-8 in their last 10 games, and 4-0 in Hernandez’s last four starts. Minnesota has lost the last four meetings of these two.
Look for the A’s to take this one and clinch the West at home.
