The New York Mets didn’t have the season they had hoped for and it this point they have a chance to pay spoiler and have nothing really to play for but pride. The Mets have won their last three games, they are 7-3 in their last 10 games, and they are 13 games under .500. As a team the Mets are hitting .238 with David Wright hitting .313, Daniel Murphy hitting .284, and Josh Satin hitting .277. For game one in Cincinnati the Mets start Aaron Harang who makes his third start for the Mets where he is 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA.
Cincinnati is 5-1 in their last six games, 5-2 in their last seven home games, and 19-7 in Cueto’s last 26 home starts. New York is 6-2 in their last eight games, 2-5 in their last seven road games against a team with a winning record, and -17 in their last 24 games as an underdog. New york has won five of their last seven games in Cincinnati.
The Reds are big favorites here and rightfully so and really for Cueto he can only hope he is in full form in case he is needed for a one game playoff as a Wildcard team.
