The Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins take the field in game two of their series Tuesday.
As a Philadelphia fan I can't wait for the season to end after Monday's 4-0 loss at Miami for loss number five in a row. The frustration for me reached another level when Roy Halladay left in the first inning with arm fatigue. Really? You didn't know that in warm ups? It really doesn't matter because this team has packed it in and I wish whoever the new manager is in 2014 luck because Charlie Manuel was not the problem with little talent to work with. Five years ago I would say this was a great team but injuries and age have killed this team. Philadelphia turns to Zach Miner for his second straight start in 2013. Miner has been strictly a reliever and lasted just three frames in a 4-3 loss (ND) to Miami where he gave up two hits and two walks but no runs.

Miami had won just seven of ten but turned in to a playoff team in a 4-0 victory over Philadelphia in the series opener. The Marlins problems at the plate have hurt them throughout 2013 but they didn't need much in the way of scoring with strong pitching carrying the day Monday. Starter Nathan Eovaldi was at his best with a three hit shut out over 7.2 innings to improve to 4-6. The offense had plenty of runners on nine hits and nine base on balls that saw four different players drive in runs and four scoring with several opportunities left on the field. Henderson Alverez gets the call to the hill to face visiting Philadelphia Tuesday for the first time in his career. Alverez has been up and down over his last ten with quality starts in four while going 3-4.
I don't like either team and Philadelphia won't get my money. Personally this game looks to be unwatchable but gun to my head is Miami or walk away with a lean to the latter...
