The Minnesota Twins look to deal the visiting Cleveland Indians a rare loss on Saturday.
Cleveland continued their outstanding play with a 12-6 decision over Minnesota at Target Field. The Tribe stayed one game ahead of the Rangers with their ninth win in ten contests both the pitching and hitting have been outstanding. The bats saved the Indians Friday with Corey Kluber whacked for all six runs over 5.1 frames with the bats pounding out 17 hits to make this a winning performance. Drew Stubbs cracked a two run homer while three others knocked in two runs apiece. Left hander Scott Kazmir is charged with keeping the Indians Wild Card hopes alive versus the Twins. Kazmir was at his best last time out in a 4-1 victory over the Astros with with a four hit shut out over seven frames.

Minnesota has been fading for quite awhile and the team I though would be a tough out for most of the season obviously needs a few parts to be competitive in the American League Central. The bats and arms need more consistency although it was the work on the mound that hurt them Friday with Pedro Hernandez allowing six runs through 1.2 innings with Liam Hendricks allowing five more in 4.2 frames. The offense tried to make a game of it with Pedro Florimon going deep and driving in three while Alex Pressley knocked in two more. Cole De Vries gets his second consecutive start when he faces the red hot Indians on Saturday. De Vries will be looking for a big rebound from an 11-7 loss at Oakland where he gave up six runs in two innings.
Although I think Kazmir can be hit I believe he has a sizable edge on the mound while the Cleveland offense is as dangerous as any which says take the hot Indians...
