The San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants end the regular season at AT&T Park on Sunday.
San Diego hasn't been known for scoring a ton of runs but exploded for a 9-3 decision over National League West rival San Francisco. That made the Padres winners in three of four heading in to the final game of the season. Eric Stults came through on the mound with all three runs given up on seven hits over seven innings to improve to 11-13. The Padres lauched a 16 hit attack that saw Chris Denorfia, Jesus Guzman and Jedd Gyorko leave the yard and knock in six runs. San Diego gives the final start of 2013 to Tyson Ross who faces the division rival Giants. Ross comes in off a pair of no decisions where he allowed three runs on six hits over a combined 15 innings.

The Giants have surprisingly struggled over the long season and the team that has generally enjoyed strong finishes didn't have one. The Giants had a three winning streak snapped Saturday with both the arms and bats coming up short which has happened too often in 2013. Yusmeiro Petit fell to 4-1 with five runs plated on seven hits and a pair of free passes covering five frames with Michael Kickman allowing four more. The bats totaled nine hits and walked twice with Hunter Pence leading the way with a two run bomb. San Francisco turns to Guillermo Moscoso for his second start of 2013 after eleven appearances out of the bull pen. Overall, Moscoso has gone 2-2 with a 4.21 ERA covering 25.2 innings.
I don't think there is an edge or clear cut favorite in this one with the lineups an unknown so I'll go with the better odds...
