The New York Yankees look to get in the win column at Minute Maid Park versus the Houston Astros.
The Yankees made some changes to their lineup in the off season but the new faces didn't come through in Tuesdays 6-2 defeat at Minute Maid Park. The real problem was the starting pitching also struggled which spelled disaster with CC Sabathia allowing all six runs in the first two frames. Sabathia went six and gave up eight hits including a pair of homers. The bats posted six hits and walked three times with Brian McCann and Mark Texeira driving in 8th inning runs. Veteran Hiroki Kuroda gets the call Wednesday having faced Houston once in 2013 and tossing a four hit shutout over seven frames.

Houston has had nothing to cheer about in recent years and their move to the American League in 2013 didn't change anything. However, a new year brings hope and the Astros would love to see more performances like they had in their 6-2 decision over the Bronx Bombers Tuesday. Six early runs was all starter Scott Feldman needed with a two hit shutout over 6.1 innings while three relievers performed mop up duty. Houston received nine hits with Jesus Guzman slugging a two run bomb and LJ Hoes going solo while Jose Altuve drove in a pair. Jarred Cosart enters his second season after making ten starts in 2013 where he went 1-1 with a 1.95 ERA.
The Yankees are not the feared team we've seen over the years and finding runs won't be easy against Cosart. I'm taking New York for now hoping Kuroda can be the difference...
