The Texas Rangers and the Philadelphia Phillies meet for game three of their interleague series with the series tied at one game each.
The Texas Rangers were beaten down by the Phils on Opening Day but they scored late on Tuesday to get the win and even the series. Adrian Beltre had two hits and two RBI’s, Shin-Soo CHoo had two hits, and Price Fielder and Alex Rios were among those Rangers with hits as Texas scored three runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Martin Perez allowed seven hits and two runs while striking out seven over 5.2 innings to not factor in the decision as Joakim Soria got the win in relief. For Wednesday’s game The Rangerss tart Robbie Ross who worked out of the bullpen last season. Last year Ross allowed 63 hits and 21 earned runs while striking out 58 over 62.1 innings for a 4-2 record and a 3.03 ERA.

The Philadelphia Phillies got off to a strong start beating the Rangers on Monday but on Tuesday the Rangers got the last laugh and the win. Marlon Byrd and Cesar Hernandez each had two hits while Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, and Jimmy Rollins all added hits as the Phillies scored two runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher A.J. Burnett pitched well allowing seven hits and a run while striking out three over 6. Innings to get a no decision and it was Mario Hollands who took the loss after Jake Diekman blew the save. For Wednesday’s game Philadelphia stats Kyle Kendirck who was 10-13 with a 4.70 ERA last season as he allowed 207 hits and struck out 110 over 182 innings.
Texas is 7-2 in their last nine home games, 7-0 in their last seven games as a home favorite, and 1-4 in their last five interleague games. Philadelphia is 11-31 as an underdog, 3-12 in their last 15 interleague road games, and 2-5 in Kendrick’s last seven road starts. Philadelphia is 7-4 in the last 11 meetings.
The Rangers have the big bats that haven’t really even got it going but against Kendrick I expect fireworks.
