The Colorado Rockies and the Miami Marlins meet Tuesday in MLB action from Marlins Park. The Rockies are coming off a weekend series against the Padres. Colorado managed a three-game sweep in that one. As for the Marlins, they’re fresh off a series versus the Mets. Miami lost two of the first three games, then in the Monday finale the Marlins took a shutout loss. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Colorado didn’t have a ton of trouble with the Padres this past weekend, taking victories 10-4, 5-4 and 8-3 in a nice sweep. In the Sunday victory, Colorado starter Antonio Senzatela put up 6.0 innings with just one earned on six hits and two walks.

For the starter gig in the Tuesday matchup, the Rockies are going with Ryan Feltner. In his five starts so far Feltner is 1-2 with a 4.85 ERA. Over 26.0 innings total he has 23 hits, 14 earned runs, seven walks and 29 strikeouts.

Over on the Marlins’ side, they lost to the Mets 10-4 Friday and 3-2 Saturday before bagging a 6-2 Sunday victory. In the series finale Sunday, Miami posted seven team hits in a rough 6-0 loss. Trevor Rogers lasted 5.0 frames in the start with three earned on five hits and two walks.

Daniel Castano will take the mound for the Marlins on Tuesday. Across his four games (one start) so far Castano is 0-1 with a clean ERA. In 10.2 innings he has 10 hits, two walks and five strikeouts to his credit.

The Rockies are 2-5 in their last seven Tuesday games and 7-17 in their last 24 road games. Colorado is 1-9 in their last 10 after an off day.

Meanwhile, the Marlins are 18-45 in their last 63 in game one of a series and 7-19 in their last 26 versus the NL West. The over is 13-6-1 in Miami’s last 20 at home.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Miami here. Castano hasn’t had much luck in the win/loss department yet this year but he’s doing quite well through 10-plus innings. Castano is coming off 6.2 frames with five hits and two walks in Philadelphia; he should be ready for another quality start in this one. As for Feltner, he had some issues versus the Braves but otherwise has looked pretty good himself lately. Should be a fun starter matchup.
