The Red Sox drop to 2-3 on the season and are looking for their first home win of the year. Boston’s pitching has had trouble against the Brewers, as Clay Buchholz allowed 13 hits and six runs in 4.1 innings. Jon Lester will hope to have better control when he makes his second start of the year. On opening day, Lester gave the Red Sox seven innings and allowed only two runs, but ended up receiving the loss due to Boston’s inability to score. Lester lost his only career start against the Brewers, as he allowed four runs in eight innings.
The Brewers are 4-0 in Gallardos last 4 starts during game 3 of a series and 8-2 in Gallardos last 10 starts. The Red Sox are 13-3 in Lesters last 16 home starts and 39-14 in their last 53 games as a home favorite. The 2-5 in the last 7 meetings in Boston.
It's not very often you see the Red Sox get swept, especially at home. Boston had plenty of chances to win on Saturday, but should get the job done on Sunday with Lester on the mound. Lester has been automatic when pitching at home and he's tough to go against in this spot.
