The Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians will play a rubber game on Sunday. The Twins tied the series with a 7-3 win on Saturday.
The Twins offense produced once again, knocking in three runs in the first inning and 10 hits overall. Kyle Gibson allowed just one run in five innings, and Ricky Nolasco will get the start for game 3. Nolasco wasn’t great in his first start of the season, as he lasted just six innings and allowed 10 hits and five runs. Nolasco was decent last year with a 13-11 record and an ERA of 3.70. This will be Nolasco’s first career start against the Cleveland Indians.

The Indians pitching showed some chinks in the armor with Carlos Carrasco allowing five runs in 5.2 innings. The seven runs were the most allowed by the Twins all season. Justin Masterson will make his second start of the year on Sunday. Masterson was absolutely fabulous in his first start of the season, giving the Indians seven innings without allowing a single run. Masterson didn’t pick up the win, but he proved he’s worth keeping an eye on this season. Masterson is 30-25 in his career at home, but just 3-7 with an ERA of 4.22 against the Minnesota Twins.
The Twins are 0-8 in their last 8 road games vs. a right-handed starter and 1-7 in their last 8 road games. The Indians are 4-0 in Mastersons last 4 starts vs. a team with a losing record and 36-17 in their last 53 during game 3 of a series. The Twins are 3-8 in the last 11 meetings in Cleveland.
The Indians pitching don't have many back-to-back poor perofmrances and Masterson has done fairly well against losing teams as of late. I like Cleveland in this matchup to get the job done.
