The Detroit Tigers spent the entire first week of the season at home and even with a rain out they still leave MoTown with the lead in the AL Central. The Tigers have a 1.5 game lead in the American League Central and they outscored their opponents by seven runs despite losing on Sunday. Miguel Cabrera leads Detroit hitting .350, Austin Jackson is hitting .350, Ian Kinsler is hitting .304, and Torii Hunter is hitting .300. The Tigers starting pitchers have an ERA of 1.93 with the bullpen at 6.08. For game one at Chavez Ravine the Tigers start Max Scherzer who won the Cy Young Award last season but had a no decision in his first start this year. In his first start of the year Scherzer allowed four hits and struck out seven over 8.0 scoreless innings against the Royals.
Los Angeles is 24-7 in game one of a series, 8-3 in their last 11 interleague home games, 3-8 in their last 11 games as an underdog, and 11-25 against the AL Central. Detroit is 8-3 in their last 11 interleague games, 3-9 in their last 12 interleague road games, and 9-2 in Scherzer’s last 11 starts as a road favorite. Detroit is 2-5 in their last seven games in Los Angeles.
This one should be a battle and I like for it to stay under the total.
I also have a play on the winning side and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
