The San Francisco Giants started their season with seven road games but they went 5-2vover the first week. The Giants starting pitchers have an ERA of 3.92 with the relievers at 3.27 for a team ERA of 3.69. For their first home game this season the Giants start Tim Hudson who won in his first start. In his first outing Hudson allowed three hits and struck out seven over 7.2 innings against the D-Backs in Arizona. The Giants are looking healthy which means they are going to be tough this season.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are having a tough start to the season but they are coming off of a win on Sunday. The Diamondbacks are 1-2 on the road this season and they are four games behind the Giants in the NL West standings. Paul Goldschmidt leads Arizona hitting .400, Chris Owings is hitting .367, and mark Trumbo is hitting .314 with five home runs. For game one at San Francisco the D-Backs start Trevor Cahill who has lost both of his starts this season. So far this year Cahill has allowed 12 hits and seven earned runs while striking out four over 10.0 innings of work for an 0-2 record and a 6.30 ERA.
San Francisco is 4-1 in their last five games, 6-0 at home against a right-handed starter, 4-1 against the NL West, and 5-11 following an off day. Arizona is 1-4 in their last five games, 2-9 against the NL West, 0-5 following an off day, and 3-8 in Cahill’s last 11 road starts. Arizona is 1-4 in their last five meetings against the Giants.
The Under is 10-4-1 in the last 15 meetings of these two and 7-0-1 when these two meet in San Francisco and I look for it to be the case again here and that is my free pick.
