USA TODAY Sports
The Cleveland Indians are a half of a game behind the Tigers in the NL Central but are coming off of a loss in the second game of a double header in Wednesday. The Indians are in second place in the AL Central and they are 2-1 on the road this season. As a team the Indians are hitting .258 with David Murphy hitting .320, Michael Brantley hitting .294, and Yan Gomes hitting .269. The Indians starting pitchers have a 4.60 ERA and the bullpen has a 2.57 ERA for a team ERA of 3.80. For game one at Chicago Cleveland starts Danny Salazar who had a no decision in his first start. In his last outing Salazar allowed seven hits and two runs while striking out four over 5.2 innings at home against the Twins.
Chicago is 9-21 against a right-handed starter, 1-7 as a home underdog, and 5-17 in Danks’ last 22 starts. Cleveland is 6-1 in their last seven home games, 20-6 in their last 26 games, and 40-15 as a favorite.
The White Sox have the bats and will be fun to watch and while they may have varied success this season I like them in this spot.
