The Line: Baltimore Orioles -136 / Toronto Blue Jays +126 --- Over/Under: 9 See the Latest Odds

The Toronto Blue Jays square off against the Baltimore Orioles in Saturday action from Camden Yards at 7:05PM on MASN.

The Blue Jays took the series opener against the Birds with an amazing outing from all their pitchers Friday night.  Toronto dominated the Orioles batters with Dustin McGowan leading the way with 6 strong innings pitched and just 5 hits yielded.  In relief, Cecil and Santos fanned 5 batters and Santos closed it out by making easy 1, 2, 3 work of the Orioles lineup.  The Orioles aided the Blue Jays effort with two costly errors by 3rd baseman Jonathan Schoop who allowed two runs to score on his errors -- the Blue Jays should take advantage while they can with Manny Machado just a few weeks away from returning.

The Orioles were very unimpressive offensively on Friday night and it was a shame as they usually potent Baltimore bats got an amazing outing from starting pitcher Chris Tillman who surrendered just 3 hits in 8 innings pitched while fanning 6.  The Orioles saw a huge opportunity slip up as the Birds loaded the bases in the 5th before Adam Jones flew out to center field to end the inning. The Orioles look forward to the return of JJ Hardy Saturday afternoon.  The Orioles top three hitters all had base hits in this one but they were unable to get any support once players got on base all game long.

These two teams were underwhelming offensively on Friday night but the Blue Jays bullpen was the difference.  I do not expect the Orioles bats to be as quiet on Saturday night and JJ Hardy should give the defense and offense a boost.  Look for the Orioles to bounce back behind the arm of Bud Norris and a big game from the middle of their lineup as they force a Sunday rubber match with the win at home.
