The Houston Astros and Texas Rangers will play game 2 of a three-game series on Saturday. The Rangers won game 1, 1-0 thanks to an impressive performance from pitcher Yu Darvish.
With the loss, the Astros have now lost seven of their last nine games and are quickly fulfilling expectations of being the worst team in baseball. The Astros have scored three or less runs in seven of their first 10 games, including being shutout in a 12 inning game on Friday. Jarred Cosart hopes to see more runs on the board when he makes his third start, as he’s 1-1 on the season with a 4.09 ERA and has seven strikeouts in 11 innings. Cosart is 0-1 in one career start against the Rangers, as he allowed three runs in six innings in a game last season.

The Ranger shave now won three of their last five games and improve to 3-1 at home. This Texas lineup has been held to two or less runs in three of its last four contests, but the Rangers pitching has made up for the lack of runs so far. Tanner Scheppers hopes to not put as much pressure on the lineup to produce, as he’s 0-1 in two starts with a 9.00 ERA. Scheppers has given up 17 hits and walked four batters in just nine innings. This will be Scheppers first career start against the Astros.
The Astros are 3-7 in Cosart's last 10 starts and 24-66 in their last 90 games as an underdog. The Rangers are 7-3 in their last 10 games vs. a right-handed starter and 47-19 in their last 66 vs. American League West. The Astros are 6-21 in the last 27 meetings in Texas.
There's no value in picking the Rangers to win this game, which is why I'm going to side with the under. The Rangers star lineup isn't producing at the level most expected, and the Astors couldn't score runs against a middle school team at this rate. 10 runs is simply too much, which is why I'll side with the under.
